It all so confusing. In going to the websites sugested on the reading list, i was confused by all the propaganda. From what i gather the big debate is allowing the government take control of the internet. Who is really fighting for the people and their rights??
Save the internet: They say that big companies should not be able to control how fast people acess certain sights over the others. In thier streaming video they broadcasted
a Boston senate meeting that denied "Save the internet" supporters, because people that Comcast had paid took up all the seats. Is this an example for why we dont want big companies running things?
"Hands Off": suggest that if they get hold of the internet, they can finally usher in all of the internets potential such as streaming HD movies directly on your computer. It would also lower cost for many consumers.
I am honestly confused on who is telling the truth. But based on their approches, Hands off seems to be undermining the important institutional rights that people have. Internet should have never been boughht by companies. It should be free for all people. I think that we should stop fussing about who needs to own the the internet and just give it to people for free.
